Septoplasty in Children?

Can Septoplasty be done in young Children?

The purpose of a septoplasty is to straighten or eliminate the curved/deviated inside dividing cartilage of the nose called the septum. Septoplasty in the pre pubertal age group is a controversial operation because of concerns regarding retardation of subsequent mid facial growth.
I usually wait at least until the age of 15 or after puberty, but medical studies have shown that if growth spurt is over, girls can be candidates for septoplasty even before as young as 12-13.But I will wait bit longer to advise Rhinoplasty in this age.
