Microlaryngoscopy under general anesthesia is a common procedure done to examint the larynx with an operating microscope and surgery being done to remove polyps, nodules,cysts,biopsy etc.
Microlaryngoscopy is a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure performed to treat pathological conditions in the voice box or the larynx.
It is performed under general anesthetic. A variety of laryngoscopes or instruments for examining the larynx are introduced through the mouth. Often, the procedure involves the use of lasers; either carbon dioxide or Diode lasers. The procedure is usually performed as a day only procedure and is followed by several days of reduced voice use.
