Sacred Heart of Jesus-Anahatha Chakra

Today, 11 June 2010, is the feast of The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This falls on the Friday following the Second Sunday after Pentecost. Devotion to the Sacred Heart is a form of devotion to the person Jesus, and especially to His Love.

In order to save man, victim of his own disobedience, God wished to give him a “new heart”. This heart is the heart of Christ, the masterpiece of the Holy Spirit, which began to beat in the virginal womb of Mary and was pierced by the lance on the cross, thus becoming for all the inexhaustible source of eternal life. That Heart is now the pledge of hope for every man.

While meditating on the Sacred Heart of Jesus, few thoughts came to my mind in relation to the Kundalini Yoga.

In Kundalini yoga the Anahata chakra –heart chakra-is the spiritual chakra the site of, the seat of the Jivatman, This is physically positioned at the heart region.

It is also associated with love and compassion, charity to others, and forms of psychic healing.

In the endocrine system, Anahata is associated with the thymus gland, located in the chest. This gland produces white blood cells that combat disease, and bring equilibrium to the body. Here comes the importance of the Blood of Christ shed for human salvation.

When energy is not flowing freely from this chakra there is a disruption of love, balance, harmony, peace, brotherhood, hope, growth and healing. When the chakra is blocked there is an inability to express any deep emotions including joy, fear, sadness and serenity. Diseases associated with this chakra imbalance include, arrhythmias, hypertension, coronary heart disease, asthma, breast (cancer and fibromas), and esophagus problems

It follows from this formula that if we want to merge with God, we, too, have to transform ourselves into Love — into consciousnesses constantly living in the state of Godlike Love. One achieve this though staying constantly with the consciousness in the anahata chakra and being the emotion of love radiated to all people, to all living beings.
