Intersinus septum-Maxillary sinus

Intersinus septum is commonly found in Frontal and Sphenoid sinuses. But Intersinus septum-mucosal and bony-are rare in maxillary sinus. If it blocks the maxillary ostium, it can cause sinus drainage problems. Another danger is when doing FESS, if one comes across this bony septum, can confuse the surgeon about the proper anatomical landmarks.
