The Sacred bones-Kundalini Yoga

Self Realisation -enlightenment – may be obtained through the awakening of the subtle spiritual energy called the Kundalini Energy lying dormant in the sacrum bone, end of the autonomic nervous system, placed close to the bottom of the spine. Yogis consider the Kundalini awakening as tantamount of resurrection.

The mystery of Os Sacrum

The word “sacrum”, meaning “sacred” in Latin, lives on in English anatomy as the name for the large heavy bone at the base of the spine.

The Romans called the bone the “os sacrum,” which literally meant the “holy bone” and the Greeks termed it the “hieron osteon,” the same thing, the “holy bon.) was used in the time of Hippocrates (about 400BC).

Halyah (chain link of vertebra’ Hebrew.) has the Name of God Yah (short form of Yahweh) as its root.

Why this bone had been called a “holy bone” had been a mystery for centuries.

Why was the sacrum sacred?

Several schools of thought exist about this matter, including the following:

• Temple: In Greek “hieron” meant not only sacred but also a “temple.” It was the temple in the sense that within its bony concavity lay, in the female, the ovaries and uterus, the sacred organs of procreation.

• The afterlife: Thanks to its great size, the sacrum is usually the last bone of a buried body to rot. The ancients may thus have believed the sacrum to be the focal point around which the body could be reassembled in the afterlife. This idea is also found with the Muslims, being mentioned in a Hadith: “Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said: “…Everything of a human body will waste away’ perish or decay except the last coccyx bone (Al-ajb, Arab.) and from that bone Allah will reconstruct the whole body”.

• A sacrificial vessel: There is some archeological evidence to support the use of the sacrum as a vessel to hold the sacrifice in ancient sacred rites.

• Adam’s sentence about the Feminine Principle (Eve): “This time it is bone of my bones… this shall be called Woman” (Genesis 2:23) ‘ a sentence that becomes: “she who is essence of my bones” (the feminine energy Kundalini being the sacred essence of the respective bone).

Fontanelle

This subtle opening also manifests on the physical level. In infants the bones forming the skull are not completely fused and there is an opening called the fontanelle, a word suggestive of the emergence of the fountain-like, upward-springing Kundalini from the top of the head.

The Beginning and the End

The Breath of God (the Ruh-soul-spirit) enter thru this opening , the moment the life begins inside mothers womb and the soul depart from here at the END..
