After External Rhinoplasty and Septoplasty, an intranasal Silastic Splint and Merocel pack are inserted.Intranasal silastic splint prevents scarring and adhesions.Merocel is a compressed gel which inflates when saline is added, is kept to prevent any bleeding. The Silastic splints are kept for a week, the Merocel packs are removed after a day.
